The University of Windsor reported Saturday evening,  that the CUPE Local 1393 membership has voted in favour of the university’s offer.  The University had called it  “its best offer”.  The negotiation team for CUPE was not recommending the deal to their membership, but the majority of its members voted in favor of it anyways.

The deal which was reached late Friday evening, prevented a walk out by CUPE 1393 members at 12:01am.  The next step will be to take it to the university’s Board of Governors for a ratification vote.

CUPE Local 1393 is comprised of over 230 technical and trade professionals.

Next up for the University is mediation talks with WUFA who represent faculty on Campus.  Those talks are scheduled for October 4th and 5th.  On Friday September 23rd, WUFA filled for a “no board” report with the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
