Police have three men in custody facing charges and a large quantity of marijuana was seized after search warrants were executed on two residences yesterday afternoon.

Just before 4:00 pm officers of the Provincial Anti Violence Initiative Strategy (PAVIS) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located at 1910 Todd Lane in LaSalle.  Upon entering the house, officers located a man inside and arrested him without incident.  A search of the home revealed a large number of marijuana plants growing in the basement and main levels of the home.  Officers also observed that holes had been knocked in the basement block walls and that the Hydro and water meters had both been bypassed.

As a result of this search warrant being executed, officers seized 692 cannabis marijuana plants and 8774 grams of loose marijuana.  The value of cannabis marijuana seized totaled  over $779,000.00.

Yi Feng Zhou, aged 31 years of LaSalle is facing two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Unlawfully Producing a Controlled Substance and Unlawfully Diverting Electricity.

At 5:30 the same evening, PAVIS Officers attended a residence located at 2576 California Avenue in Windsor and executed a second CDSA search warrant.  Upon entering the house, officers found two men, later determined to be a father and son and arrested them without incident.  A search of the house revealed a large quantity of cannabis marihuana plants in various stages of growth and other equipment consistent with a marijuana grow operation.  Officers also observed that the Hydro and water meters had been bypassed in the basement of the residence.

Officers seized 1575 cannabis marijuana plants and a small amount of loose marijuana. The value of the seized marijuana totaled over $1,575,000.00.

Hao Ye aged 56 years and Zhizhao Ye aged 29 years, both of No Fixed Address are charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Unlawfully Producing a Controlled Substance, Unlawfully Diverting Electricity and Theft Not Exceeding $5000.

As a result of the investigation, officers learned that Zhizao YE was associated to the grow operation uncovered at the LaSalle address and as a result, he is facing additional charges under the CDSA.

The total value of the cannabis marijuana seized as a result of both search warrants is in excess of $2,354,000.00
