Windsorites are invited to drop by the Central Branch of Windsor Public Library Saturday, as Board Members and Administration will be hosting a BBQ to personally express thanks for the continued support the library receives from staff and the community.
The BBQ runs from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on the front lawn of the library fronting on Ouellette Avenue.
There will be a small charge for BBQ items with the proceeds going to the Unemployed Help Centre Food Bank. Items to be served include hamburgers, hotdogs, potato chips, pop, water and other summer treats.
“We want to use this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and encourage customers who haven’t visited a library in a while to do so. We think they’ll be pleasantly surprised by what they find. I also want to use this opportunity to thank staff for their dedication and commitment,” says Windsor Public Library Board CEO Barry Holmes.
“By scheduling the BBQ on a Saturday, we hope to encourage as many customers as possible to check us out – and we hope to use the occasion to convince those without library cards to join and experience the wealth of learning, leisure and entertainment materials we have available for the Windsor community,” adds WPL Board Chair, Al Maghnieh.
Funding for the 2011 BBQ comes from CUPE Local 2067 and the Windsor Public Library Board.
