Windsor Police are attempting to track down the person who may have lost a large quantity of money earlier this week at a downtown grocery store.  Tuesday afternoon, a  woman attended Windsor Police Headquarters and turned over a large quantity of cash money in an envelope that she had found minutes earlier.

The woman told police that she had been shopping at the Food Basics Downtown just before noon, and upon finishing her shopping, she sat down on a bench inside the store near the front entrance and observed an envelope on the floor under the bench. Upon opening the envelope, she discovered a large quantity of Canadian currency in various denominations.  The woman immediately attended Police Headquarters and turned the money over to uniformed officers.

Windsor Police are attempting to locate the owner of the money and are requesting that anyone having any knowledge of the currency to contact Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 to verify the amount of money  and the denomination of the bills found in the envelope.
