City of Windsor Honours the Life of Jack Layton

Today on behalf of City Council and City of Windsor, Mayor Eddie Francis extended sincere condolences to Olivia, Sarah, Michael, and the family of the Honourable Jack Layton, who died this morning at the age of 61.
“Today, Canada lost a great Canadian,” said Mayor Eddie Francis. “Jack worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life of every Canadian. I personally had the pleasure of working with Jack, and his determination and dedication was not only an inspiration to me, but to everyone that met him.”
Flags at City of Windsor facilities will be flown at half mast until the day of Mr. Layton’s funeral.
Books of condolences will be placed in the lobbies of 350 City Hall Square West and 400 City Hall Square East later today for members of the community.
