Windsor Police have located and arrested the female suspect who fled from a stolen vehicle after a short chase in the city’s west side yesterday afternoon. On Monday police attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on College Avenue near California Avenue. The driver of the stolen Dodge Neon refused to stop and sped away westbound on College Ave. The vehicle then proceeded northbound on Prince Rd. and eventually stopped on Prince Road at Queen Street. Two men were arrested at the scene, however the male driver and a female fled the area on foot.
Officers flooded the area and the driver was arrested in the area of Ojibway Parkway at Broadway Street while attempting to hide in some bushes.
Officers later received information concerning the identity of the female and where she could be located. At approximately 3:00 p.m., uniformed officers attended a residence in the 800 block of Oak Street where they found the woman. It was discovered that the woman was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for breaching a condition of a probation order. She was arrested in the home without incident.
31-year-old of Windsor is in custody and facing charges including Failing To Stop for Police, Disqualified Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Theft Not exceeding $5000 and Possession of Stolen Property Not Exceeding $5000.
29-year-old Dustin Fields and 25-year-old Eric Benson both of Windsor are both charged with Being the Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Taken Without Consent.
36-year-old Tracy Belisle of Windsor is charged with Breach of Probation and Being the Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Taken Without Consent.
