Helicopters from the Canadian Military’s 427th Special Operations Aviation Squadron were conducting urban night flying training in Windsor on Tuesday night. This training is meant to familiarize the pilots with the challenges of flying in an urban environment at night.

The training exercise began at 10pm, Tuesday, and continued to the early hours of the morning. The choppers made circular loops from West Windsor to Walkerville, over the Detroit River and spent thirty seconds hovering over the Canderel (Chrysler) Building before rinsing and repeating.

Training continues Wednesday night between 10pm and 2am.
