Two Windsor residents are in Windsor Police custody facing a number of drug related charges after a search warrant was executed Tuesday afternoon in the city’s west side. At 1:15 pm officers from the WPS Drugs and Guns Unit executed a search warrant at 989 Campbell Avenue. Upon entering the residence, officers encountered a 41 year old woman in the kitchen who was immediately arrested without incident.
A search of the house resulted in the seizure of 274 Cannabis Marihuana plants and over 1200 grams of loose Marihuana. The value of the seized marihuana from the residence totalled $288,995.00. Officers also seized electronic equipment consistent with a Cannabis Marihuana Grow Operation.
At 1:30 p.m. yesterday, uniformed officers in company with officers from the Drugs and Guns Unit stopped a motor vehicle on Lens Avenue at Howard Avenue that was driven by the boyfriend of the woman arrested on Campbell Avenue The driver was arrested and a subsequent search of his vehicle revealed 282 grams of Cannabis Marihuana in a plastic bag. The value of marihuana seized from the vehicle totalled $2820.00.
Charged is 54 year old Charles Goyette of Windsor with Unlawful Production of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Failing to Comply with a Court Imposed Condition of a Judicial Release. 41 year old Chantal Gagnon is charged with Unlawful Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
