Peace Tree Day 2011 -  Windsor, Ontario

Wednesday Afternoon at Charles Clark Square, hundreds of students from Dougall School, Prince Edward School, École L’Envolée and Immaculate Conception as well as of members of the community at large gathered to celebrate the annual Peace Tree Day. The event organized by the Building Peace Together in partnership with the City of Windsor is a one-day festival for children and youth of all cultures and faiths celebrating peace and diversity.  Among the guest speakers were Ron Jones representing the Mayor’s Office, Sister Helen Petrimoulx of Diocese of London Ministry to Refugee Claimants and Theresa Sims of the Native Women of Windsor.
