This Saturday, Devonshire Mall and Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital are teaming up once again to raise funds for a much needed, stand-alone Angioplasty centre for the Windsor community.  For the second year in a row, the Bumps For Beats – Malleyball Charity Volleyball Tournament is being held in hopes of raising thousands to not only alleviate stress on the system, but to ultimately save lives.

“Windsor has the second highest ratio of cardiac illness in Canada, and the current Angioplasty suite at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital is at capacity.” says Jesse Campbell, the Bumps For Beats media liason.  “We’re encouraging the entire Windsor community to donate to this important initiative.”

Last year, teams raised over $16,000 in donations for the Windsor Angioplasty Centre Fund, as well as some much needed awareness.  This year, organizers hope to not only reach but surpass last year’s total, with every dollar raised going directly towards the development of a  new stand-alone Angioplasty facility for the city of Windsor.

Though the tournament is tomorrow, it’s not too late to donate.  If you would like to sponsor a team or person in particular, you can head on over to the Malleyball website and click on the donation tab.  For those without a particular team of person to sponsor but plan on attending to show their support, Malleyball staff will be present at the games to accept any donations as well.

The Bumps For Beats tournament is being held at On the Beach Bar and Grill, located just off the expressway at East Pike Creek Road, at 354 Croft Drive, RR #1 in Tecumseh.  For more information, visit the Malleyball website, or contact Jesse Campbell at jesse@ideaworkshop.ca.
