Police Need Help Locating Hit And Run Driver

Windsor Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the driver of a vehicle who failed to remain at the scene of an accident in a South Windsor neighbourhood last week.

last Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 8:30 am police responded to the 3600 block of Dominion Blvd. for a report of a hit and run collision.  Upon arrival, they were met by a 59 year old woman who advised that at 8:00 a.m., she had been driving her silver 2010 Dodge Caravan northbound on Dominion Blvd. from Cabana Road West, and  as she proceeded around the left curve on Dominion Blvd., she observed a smaller silver car travelling southbound on Dominion  coming toward her at a high rate of speed.  The roads were wet as it had been raining.  As the smaller silver car approached the curve, the driver was travelling too fast and was unable to negotiate the corner and proceeded to strike the driver’s side of the Caravan causing extensive damage to the entire driver’s side of the vehicle.  Damage to the Caravan is estimated to be approximately $7000.  The driver of the Caravan was not injured as a result of the collision.

The driver of the smaller silver vehicle continued south on Dominion without making any attempt to stop.  The driver of the silver vehicle is described as a young, white male.  The suspect vehicle should have extensive damage to its driver’s side.  No licence plate information was obtained.
