The City of Windsor Parks and Recreation invites the community to view designs and provide input for Captain John Wilson Park on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Talbot Trail School, 4000 Ducharme Street, Windsor.

The community park has been designed based on public comments received at previous open houses held in 2005 and 2007. It is located on Ducharme Street east of the Sixth Concession Rd. adjacent to Talbot Trail School.

The park features soccer pitches, a playground area, sports court, walking trail, public washrooms, shelter, trees and benches, plus a parking area.

The park is named in honour of Captain John Wilson who died February 1955, three hours after rescuing a child from a burning house. He suffered heart failure due to smoke inhalation.

Councillor Hilary Payne will be in attendance.
