Windsor City Council meets in a rare Tuesday night session because the election was held on Monday.
Tonight council will receive the report on last June’s basement flooding in the city. Administration has several recommendations. One is that the City designate parts of the City as downspout disconnection areas. This disconnection will be voluntary and funded though the City’s capital budget. The City will consider making this mandatory depending on the outcome of the voluntary by-law. As well, the City will look at a voluntary Basement Flooding Projection Subsidy Program, for existing residents in the disconnection areas.
Council will be asked to approve a new festival in Downtown Windsor. The Air Balloon Festival is set to take over the core on July 30th and 31st.
Several bridges in the city will get final approval tonight to be repaid. E.C Row and a pair of bridges in South Windsor will get repaired over the summer months.
