The newest gallery in Windsor, SB Contemporary Art, which opened just one week ago, has lots to offer for the beginner to aspiring artists.  Express your creative energy and explore a range of mediums from drawing and painting to mixed media. Classes are small in size allowing for one on one instruction with artist Sarah Beveridge and other local artists from the Windsor community.

Here is a run down of what they offer for the spring:

Adult Classes:

EcoArt – Mixed Media
Artist, Sarah Beveridge
Try a little bit of this and that, mix it up in this eco-friendly mixed media course. In this 8 week course come and explore a range of different materials: found objects, paint, thread, drawing… it all comes together in these eclectic creations from new and recycled materials. Create unique works of art that are also environmental conscious.

Tuesday April 19 to June 7 (8 weeks)
9:30am to 12 noon
Class is limited to 10, $180.00, plus HST and materials

Working with Wax – Encaustic Painting
Artist, Lisa Marshall
Come and explore an encaustic painting course that explores this ancient painting technique, incorporating oil paint pigment and wax. Experiment with a new medium over several weeks, learning various painting and compositional approaches to making art. Materials are included, and you will also be encouraged to incorporate and bring anything of your own.

Section 1 –
Wednesday April 20 to May 11 (4 weeks)

Paint Studio
Artist, Sarah Beveridge
In this acrylic painting and mixed medium course, push your creative process and explore new ways of working with paint. A range of different materials will be explored in this 8 week course. Build and develop your own individual creative style and composition.

Thursday April 21 to June 9 (8 weeks)
9:30am to 12 noon
Class is limited to 10, $180.00 plus HST and materials

Open Studio – Life Drawing
In this Open Studio, explore eight weeks of drawing from the human form. Investigate new mediums and processes through a spontaneous approach to drawing. Bring along a portable easel, tables are available.

Wednesday April 20 to June 8 (8 weeks)
7pm to 10pm
Class is limited to 10 $210.00 plus HST and materials

Youth Classes:

Mix it Up (Ages 9 to 12)
Using found objects and a variety of materials come and explore, experiment and create using mixed media. Invent a different work of art each week, painting, drawing, sculpture. What will you create?

Section 1 –
Thursday April 21 to May 12 (4 weeks)
3:30 to 5:30pm

Section 2 –
Thursday May 19 to June 9 (4 weeks)
3:30 to 5:30pm
