The City Grill opened in downtown Windsor today at 11:30 am at the corner of Pitt and Ouellette Ave., in what was Peppers before.

The City Grill is describes as:

A casually chic restaurant with a trendy urban feel located in a historic landmark in the heart of downtown Windsor. Serving contemporary cuisine the menu is a reflection of the great cities of the world. The new venue offers a sophisticated lounge, large patio, along with private dining and meeting space. Lunch, dinner and late night dining will be available.

The restaurant’s approach and North American menu will accent grilled flavours with fresh and creative touches. The culinary crew, headed by Chef Shawn McKerness, will add local, seasonal content and area vintages.

With this opening comes something else new for downtown Windsor. Valet parking will be offered on Friday and Saturday nights between 5:00pm and 2:00am.  Tonight at city council, a report from Parking Operations recommends approval of this service.  Patrons to the City Grill will be able to pull up into an area that is reserved for loading, and the valet service will park their cars for them across the street in the city’s parking garage.  The City Grill will rent these parking spaces from the city.
