Body Found in Leamington

A man found dead in a laneway near the Portuguese Club in Leamington on the weekend died from an accident, and not foul play. 58-year old Charles Goodrich was found outside 217 Talbot Street West around 5:30pm on Saturday. It’s believed the man was out target shooting. A post-mortem exam was being performed today in London.

Former General Chemical Site To Be Cleaned Up

A $20.4 million deal was signed today by the Ministry of the Environment and Amherstburg Land Holdings Inc. (affiliated with Honeywell Canada), ensuring the proper clean up of the Amherstburg plant. The soda ash settling basin will take time to clean up, and a spokesperson for Honeywell said they plan to start with removing the General Chemical structures that are visible from Front Road.

Woman Falls From Second Floor Balcony

Police were called out to an apartment building on Northway Avenue in the city’s west end earlier today, and remain on scene there looking for a male suspect in a possible domestic dispute. The woman who fell was taken to the hospital, but her condition isn’t known.

12 Out of 20 Employees With Respiratory Problems

The Ministry of Labour was called into the office of UWindsor’s campus police services, located at 320 Sunset Avenue, and issued a stop work order on Friday due to hazardous mould in the building. CAW Local 195 representative Mike Dunning says there is documentation going back to 2003 reporting the issue to the Ministry of Labour.
