During these long, cold and snowy days of winter, are you experiencing garage-sale cabin fever?  If so, then this event is for you!!  Windsor’s first-ever indoor garage sale of the rich and famous will be held on Saturday January 22 at Rose City Ford with all proceeds will benefit the Windsor/Essex Children’s Aid Foundation.

Sophia Chisholm, Rose City Ford’s secretary treasurer is the spearhead behind the event and she tells windsoriteDOTca that the idea came two years ago when she and John amalgamated two households and they were left with “extra stuff”.  They had a few garage sales to dispose of items and had a blast meeting people and putting together the sale, and they thought it would be a great idea to have a one on a large-scale basis at the dealership.

Sophia says that she personally has a soft spot for children’s charities and so it decided that all proceeds would go to the Children’s Aid Society of Windsor.

Donations have come from local physicians, accountants, law firms and even the Mayor and his wife and include such items as office furniture, lots of TV sets, exercise equipment, chairs and tables, wedding dresses & gowns, wall mirrors, paintings and prints, bedroom set, dining room set, printers, computers, satellite equipment and more!  Many of the donors have chosen to be anonymous with respect to the specific items that they have donated.

Most of the items will be priced at $10 and up.  Cash, debit, and  credit cards will all be accepted!   The sale runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
