Windsor police were called to the scene after the man allegedly assaulted a bouncer at the Ferry Street entrance to the The Loop during FunnelFest 2.0 this weekend.
Logan Payette, a long-time employee at The Loop asked the man to leave when he attempted to bring a drink outside onto the street. The man then allegedly started to attack Payette. Additional security personnel came to help detain the man until police arrived.
After the man was arrested for assault, the arresting officer found what appeared to be a controlled substance in his pocket.
There were many witnesses present who said they were shocked that someone would resort to such violent behaviour during a charity event being held for a victim of aggravated assault.
The music community came together Saturday night for Funnelfest 2.0. The event was held to raise money for Peter Steward who is better known as Scott Funnel within the community.
