Fresh from the Municipal Election City Council returns this Monday night, with a very light agenda.  The current City Council had 5 more meetings to sit thought, and the new Council offically takes office on Monday December 6, 2010.

As expected, there will be a recount request brought forward to Council for Ward Two.  John Elliott lost to long time councillor Ron Jones by just three votes.  Mr. Elliott will appear before council to request this recount take place.

A new medical plaza is going up in South Windsor along Dougall Ave, just south of the TD bank.  This area is presently home to several homes, most of which have been long abandoned and bored up for several years, awaiting this approval from Council.

The city is launching what it calls a Open Data Catalogue.  It will be a place on the City’s webpage for windsorites to read raw data such as 311 stats, Bylaw and Building Statistics, Heritage Sites, Job Postings and so much more.  Check it out at:  http://www.citywindsor.ca/003713.asp

It’s that time of years again!  Time for the annual Sparky’s Toy Drive.  Jeremy Soulliere from Windsor Fire and Rescue Services will appear before council for the official kick off.  The goal is to collect many toys and other items so that no kid will go Christmas without a gift under the tree!
