A newly-opened Walkerville shop is sending customers to the Milky Way and beyond.

Located on 1520 Wyndotte St. East, Candy Orbit is hard to miss. The store, which opened on November 12, has a spaceship and vivid colours painted outside. With a wall-to-wall candy selection, the interior is even more impressive.

Upon entering, different sections of candy are immediately visible: Many unique items are displayed along the walls and pillars, including Nerds ropes, sour foam, chocolate bars only available in America and more. It raises blood-sugars just thinking about it but don’t worry; there’s a sugar-free section too.

Kids aren’t the only ones who will feel like, well… kids in a candy store either. Adults looking for a trip down memory lane will experience some nostalgia when coming across Fun Dip, Pixie Sticks, Blow Pops, Big League Chew and pop rocks. There’s also an area filled with Willy Wonka treats (some in giant theatre packs.)

Candy Orbit has several ways to combat a sweet tooth. Different flavours of fudge are sold and custom-made gift baskets are available for the candy fanatic on your Christmas list. Speaking of shopping, the store also has many collectibles including old-fashioned lunchboxes, candy dispensers and unique fridge magnet sets.

While the store’s content is nothing to sneeze at, perhaps most impressive is their customer service. Store operator, Jodi Lee, held doors open for customers, was available to help them and truly went above and beyond for those who chose to visit: If the joyful echoes of children were any indication, there will be a lot more to come.

While checking out, Lee mentioned to customers that the store would be adding more things in the future, including $0.99 surprise bags. To scope out some of the store’s content, visit their website or view their Facebook Page for store hours and various updates.
