Enterntainment at last year's Windsor Pride Fest

Today is officially been declared the International Day Against Homophobia, and all day long Pride Windsor is offering activities and events that you can attend to show your support for this movement.

Earlier today there was a breakfast for Workplace Diversity Officers, and the Pride in the City Business Lunch with Scotiabank took place at Willistead Manor. A postcard quilt was displayed at Artcite and this afternoon, you can take in a one-act play entitled Waking Up Blue, presented by Pride Youth at the Capitol Theatre (shows are at 12:30pm, 5pm and 8pm, tickets available at the box office).

This evening, Phog Lounge is hosting an all ages open mic session from 4:30 to 7pm, and back at Artcite, an art presentation called Homophobia & Me takes place from 6 to 9pm, where viewers will get the chance to participate in a self portrait workshop.

The main event takes place at Milk tonight from 8:30pm to 10:30pm, where a good ol’ fashioned poetry slam will go down, hosted by 93.9 The River’s Dan MacDonald. Enjoy poetry and spoken word, with a political slant, aimed at remedying the pitiful affliction known as HOMOPHOBIA.
