Briefs is a daily SUMMARY of Windsor-Essex news, compiled here for your reading pleasure.

Matty Maroun has been told by the Wayne County court to demolish the toll booths he’s had erected on the US side of bridge. The booths are apparently built on public land. The presiding judge also deemed that a newly made truck lane is illegal. Talk about putting the cart before the horse!

Windsor may be the next tourist destination promoted by the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance. At a meeting held in Leamington last week, the new head of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island spoke about the benefits of marketing our region as a culinary destination. Media City runs from May 26-29 this year, and will be held at the Capitol Theatre.

Let’s get our city’s nurses back to work on this side of the border.
