All the way from Harlem New York, the Harlem Globetrotters danced into Windsor on Sunday for a fun-for-the-whole-family show!

All the big names were there, including players Buckets, Hammer, Dizzy, Scooter and Special K.  The Harlem Globetrotters put on a theatrical performance and comedy routine, and mix it all together with basketball.

Check out this gallery of the Harlem Globetrotters at the WFCU Centre!

I was so sad that i didn’t hear about this! Would have loved to go.

I went with my family, definately not the entertaining show it was when I was a kid. I remember the Globetrotters of old being far more creative with the basketball. However, it seemed everyone enjoyed themselves. You did not hear about this because the company running the WFCU does a dreadful job in promoting events.

That right J.P. a dreadful job!! And that is because they promote the John Labatt Centre in London as well, and they get top priority and effort, as it is with health care too. I have yet to see any advertising outside of the WFCU website and the arena itself. Also they price the tickets out of the reach of the unemployed here in Windsor. A very very sad state of affairs the way they run that place. It is such a great venue too. Maybe time for the city to get out of that management contract and look for a new promoter who will do the job required to run such a great facility!!

I saw more advertisements for the Globetrotters appearing at the Palace of Auburn Hills the same weekend, then I did for the WFCU Centre. The only reason I knew about this was because I’m on their emailing list (which gets sent out way too many times in a week) but there was minimal advertising.

Great shots Owen!!! Nice use of B&W. Keep up the good work!

One thing that not many people know is that it is NOT up to the WFCU Centre or the company (global) that runs the arena to advertise the show although they have the option of doing it. Ads come from the Promoter of the show itself. The Arena has the option of advertising it themselves (like they Do in London) BUT that comes from a Lack of funding from the city to the management company. These are issues that still need to be solved as the city learnes what needs to be done get the most out of the building.

For those who miss the ads in entertainment section of the Star, you can join their mailing list by going to the WFCU website and signing up. Then you'll always know the upcoming attractions there – well ahead of time I might add.
