The Canadian Pacific Railway’s Holiday Train visited Windsor’s CP rail yard on Thursday night. Hundreds and hundreds of children, parents and family members gathered to hear carols, deposit food bank donations and check out the lighted train.
Elsewhere, the Windsor’s Parks & Recreation Department flipped the switch on hundreds of thousands of LED lights on newly planted trees at Dougall and EC Row Expressway.
And on Dougall near Ouellette Pl., last years’ familiar light display made a return. Parks & Rec plugged in thousands of multicoloured lights to make the bland stretch of Dougall a pretty sight as motorists whiz by at 60km/h.
And at Dieppe Park on Windsor’s riverfront, multicoloured lights warm a tall spruce tree with seasonal cheer. Many other trees along the riverfront are coated with icy-white lights.
The Downtown Windsor BIA installed a giant pine tree on the roof of the Holiday Inn’s parking garage on Thursday. The “Tree of Hope” will be fully decorated and lit by next Tuesday.
