Windsor Expo Centre

The former GM Transmission Plant on Walker Rd. — or the “Windsor Expo Centre” — will be operating a weekend public market starting on December 4th.

Taking a page from the successful Michigan Gibraltar Trade Centers, the Windsor Gibraltar Centre will feature vendors and small businesses selling crafts, foods, antiques, Christmas gifts, art and more.

The weekend market will run on Fridays from noon – 8pm; Saturdays 10am – 6pm; and Sundays noon – 5pm.

There’s even an advertisement on Kijiji for the Gibraltar Centre, seeking vendors.

Sounds like a good plan!  Just don’t expect Windsor to have a ‘gun and knife show’ like in Michigan ;)

    Wow! That’s really cool.
I live the one on the US I have never heard they were going to do this. Maybe a sign would be a good idea letting people know. I mean really who cares about a motorcycle show.

It’s not true it’s cancelled until 3rd week in feb. They didn’t have enough vendors. And the owner does not know how to run an event like this. So he advertised screwed it all up and now closes it before it opens.

You should get your facts straight before you post something like this.

  • Lisa

Well that figures this is why businesses don’t last in this city. Come up with a good idea and have morons manage it. Let’s try to see how it goes and screw everybody over at the last min and cancel. Let’s see if they can get some business ethics together in february.

Well Lisa, I would beg to differ that this is why businesses don’t last in this city. And this is not an idea that the city came up with and then got morons to manage it…..two private companies have come up with the idea and continue to work hard to make sure that it gets off the ground…..timing is everything right now and at this point in time, the commitment from the hundreds of interested vendors has been less than stellar. So getting your facts straight is crucial when making a public statement about something which you are not fully aware.
PS – I was wondering if you could explain your sentence “let’s see if they can get some business ethics together in February”. That sentence doesn’t make sense and you obviously don’t know the meaning of the word “ethics” or how to use it in a sentence. Thanks for trying.
PSS – Oh and when was the last time that you tried to come up with a new business that would be great for the city and Windsorites in this time of economic recession and had the guts to put it out there and get the ball rolling?

So what’s the scoop, any update on the trade center – go or no go?
