Median construction, lane repaving and landscaping is wrapping up on Dougall Avenue in South Windsor.  Traffic patterns are returning to normal, and a few hundred trees are now guarding a clover-offramp of EC Row Expressway.

Jamison Laboratories donated $150,000 to the City of Windsor for the planting of up to six-hundred trees in the Dougall Gateway area.

Hundreds more trees will be planted on Howard Avenue and along certain stretches of EC Row Expressway in an attempt to recover from the loss of millions of trees in Windsor due to emerald ash borer infestation.

Dougall Avenue now features a new bike path that runs on the west side of the roadway between South Cameron and West Grand Boulevard, four freshly paved lanes, pink concrete medians and a few strips of golf grass.

The new trees will be lit with Christmas lights during the holiday season.

Kudos to Jamieson, a wonderful corporate citizen in the area. I must say I am thankful that the majority of construction is complete as that stretch of Dougall was part of my commute to work. I think the work looks great (except for the rail underpass that looks like it will crumble soon). I really love driving (since there are minimal sidewalks or bike lanes) down that stretch of road during the holiday season with the trees lit up, it’s quite stunning!
