If you’re up early this morning and reading this, you may be able to witness 20-30 meteorites per-hour, even under our currently partly cloudy sky here in Windsor and Essex County.

To find the origin point of the 2009 Leonids meteor shower, look toward the eastern sky, find the big dipper and you’ll see the Leo constellation below.  The Leonids radiate from that spot in the sky.

The Leonids will also be visible in a limited respect on Tuesday at dusk.  Your absolute best bet to viewing the Leonids is to get away from cities and areas with lots of light pollution.  Sideroads in Essex County make great Leonid-viewing candidates!

I found a small break in the cloud when I was on my balcony 15 min ago where I could see some stars so I focused on it for a bit and actually saw a couple tails. They were very faint and so fast… blink and you’d miss it, that I thought I was making it up but after a couple more I was pretty sure I wasn’t losing my marbles.

They were REALLY faint though.

I was unable to see anything tonight, even though the sky was clear (South London)
