Old Paula's Gallery

The small local business communities in Windsor are expanding.  Known as BIA’s (Business Improvement Areas), areas like the Walkerville district are experiencing a rejuvenation lately.  Walkerville and Pilette Village have been hosting Thursdays Live each month, and Ottawa Street will soon be the new home of the Made in Windsor shop!

…Paula’s Gallery will soon be moving to a new storefront beside the Vincent Franzoi gallery, across the street from Nancy Johns Gallery.  Pilette is becoming a small art gallery district!

Made in Windsor

And the organizer of the semiannual Made in Windsor craft show, Christine Rideout-Arkell has leased space on Ottawa Street and is putting together a plan for a shop to sell wares made by Windsorites!

Very exciting! I need to get out for one of the Thursdays Live!

Thanks for the plug! In addition to selling products made by the wonderfully talented people of Windsor, MIW will also host craft workshops, classes, storytimes, kids programs, and all sorts of special events…sort of a creative gathering place. People have been very supportive already (yourself included). It makes it slightly less terrifying to have people so excited about it! By the way, if anyone has little ones out there I’ll be doing a free storytime at Nancy Johns Gallery during the next Thursdays Live (June 25). Not sure of the time…maybe 7ish?? Thanks!

I love this! Just when I am going to be moving out of the area it starts to actually become something more than just a random McDonald’s and a high school. I hope the Shoppers won’t take away from the artsy charm the neighbourhood is getting.

I am glad Paula’s Gallery isn’t closed. I thought for sure it had closed up shop for good! So happy that is not the case.
