Afternoon Fire on Walker Rd.

If this was the sight you saw around 6pm Saturday evening, here’s the scoop.  My friend John pointed out that there was black smoke pouring into the sky in the area of Walker and Grand Marais… I had to go take a look and cover this fire.

A set of work trailers at an Auto Repair Shop behind Glidden / ICI Paints on Walker and North Service were burning.  Fire Truck #3 took an aerial position to attack the flames.

The fire was extinguished in under a half hour, and Truck 3′s bucket descended.

Crews walk back to be rehabilitated and replenish lost fluids.  Not sure what the cause of this was, but it certainly burned high and wide.

I passed this on E.C. Row this evening as the fire was in full swing. There were huge flames coming out of the roof. Had to be really careful on the freeway due to the number of slowed-down gawkers.

I wondered what was going on – from my neighbourhood, it looked like Chryslers had caught fire. Of course, none of the local news websites had any info on it when I got into the office…But they had lots of coverage of our local hockey team *eyeroll*
