Windsor Modern Urban Guide Launch @ NOI

Support the local! That’s the tagline of the new Windsor Modern Urban Guide, a collection of forty-one local independent businesses, shops, salons, eateries and more, all interestingly placed in an awesomely convenient pamphlet to be distributed Windsor-wide!

On Wednesday, the creator of the Windsor M.U.G., Louise Jones of Jones and Co. held a launch reception for the outstanding local guide at NOI restaurant on Erie St.

“Discover the unexpected, skip the obvious, support the local.” is the defining phrase behind the Modern Urban Guides, an idea originally created in Vancouver by Dean Philp and Daniela Lee.

The Windsor Modern Urban Guide will be available at all of the locations listed above (plus the rest I forgot to mention), hotels, tourist information centres, and at dozens of local businesses.  40,000 copies will be distributed locally!

Tom Lucier described the launch of the WMUG here (http://tomlucier.com/?p=627) better than anyone!

The Windsor Modern Urban Guide also has a website at www.modernurbanguides.com which should be online soon from what I learned.  (I wish I had a .PDF of the guide to link here!!!)

Like the eye catching retro design of the cover. Nice departure from the cookie-cutter brochure style the tourism industry is known for.
