The Ambassador Bridge

Just an artsy shot as we head into this long weekend.

The Ambassador Bridge will turn eighty years old this November, and that doesn’t include the numerous years it took to construct this, the busiest border crossing in North America. There’s political fire in town over whether to twin the Ambassador Bridge (replacement span), or whether a downriver bridge should be built instead to protect Sandwich Towne. It should be an interesting few years until this matter is resolved!

it’s weird to drive through many of the states and see bridges EVERYWHERE knowing how much debate is going on here. it’s kind of ridiculous. i’m hoping Sandwich doesn’t get destroyed.

Great shot. My last apt in Windsor was on Detroit street and I had a great view of her before they gave her that ugly paintjob.

yeah totally, I remember as a kid when it was still black. the weather/rust proofing turquoise is not quite a good beauty -> functionality trade off eh
