Over at the University of Windsor, progress is wrapping up on an impressive, multi-million-dollar expansion of the Faculty of Human Kinetics / St. Denis Centre building. More images after the cut..
The old entrance off of College Ave. has been preserved, and it leads into the new lobby/atrium.
Left to the St. Denis Centre’s pool-viewing balcony.
The atrium is similar in design to that of the Medical Education Building, however on a smaller scale.
These doors on the main floor lead to a very large lecture hall. Currently, HK Grad Studies students are using the expansion’s classrooms. It will open for undergraduate classes in the Fall.
Lecture, anyone?
And another view of this classroom.
Most of the construction is now complete, although a few areas (namely that of future offices, behind this sign) are still being finished.
Another view of the atrium.
At one point in time, before the St. Denis Centre’s “Fieldhouse” was built, these windows overlooked the field toward Assumption High School. Now they are an interior feature of the expanded building.
This desk for computer workstations struck me as different, with only plexiglass standing between the desk and the wires behind. Really open-concept!
And in the washrooms, you’ll find: Dyson Airblade hand dryers, dries your hands honestly…like a freakin rocket engine
An interesting new expanded building at the University. Officially opening during the Fall of ’09.
