‘Test’ shingles, I’m guessing, have been going up since the new year at the Low/Martin House in Walkerville.  I’m not too sure if it’s a direct replacement using cedar shingles.  These look like just a test because they haven’t been stained/finished – unless the plan is to go with a lighter roof.

The roofing of this place is a big investment by its new-ish owner, who is putting much love and care into preserving this house!  There’s a great discussion about the house on one of JohnTIZ’s flickr photos.

I’m pleased that someone is trying to save the place.

That house is gonna look great with a new roof!

I think those shingles are the real things – cedar shingles will darken with age.

oh I am absolutely in love with that house. One of my “if I win the lottery” dreams is to build a house matching this one, but on a nice big piece of land, just outside Windsor.

I’m so happy someone is giving it some TLC…I’d hate to see it rot away.
