On Sunday, another piece of Walkerville’s historic architecture was smitten by heavy machinery. I didn’t make it out to the site on that day (covered both by International Metropolis and The Mayor of Monmouth however), but I did take a gander from across the street on Monday afternoon. Holy dust, batman! I feel bad now for getting out of my car to get these shots, the dust was flying across the street as the building was munched up by machines. I’m not sure what they used to construct this building, but I know I shouldn’t have been inhaling the dust. More under the cut, including a dusty video…

The theory goes, I’m told, that the developer wants the bank gone so that people can view his strip mall better from Walker Rd. I remember going inside the bank as a child, beautiful moulding on the outside, and limestone floors on the inside. Gone now.

More dust, had to get back in the car to avoid it for this one.

Not much left eh.

A wire that was ripped town hastily, located across the street. Not sure if it was telephone or power, but I made sure to avoid it.
